"Painter of Delight" -- Studio in Dublin, New Hampshire
I said to my husband, Peter (a writer), "I need a slogan, you know, like whatshisname's "Painter of Light" or our friend Chris's "peintredurail." "How about "Painter of Delight," he said. Perfect! And so it is....
My paintings range from realist to semi-abstract, with diverse subjects, in oil and watercolor. I also create what I call "watercolor cut-outs", sparked by my love of Matisse's cut-outs. I use washes of transparent watercolor and either cut out shapes that I've drawn on the paper, or just figure out shapes as I cut. I like the clarity, color, and visual directness of the shapes on the white paper, and the serendipity of what can happen when I move the pieces of paper around.
If you see something you like, I'd love to hear from you. Prices are negotiable.
